ART Spine Level 1

Introduction
ART Spine Level 1 provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary skills to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the head, neck, back, torso, and the structures surrounding the spinal column. Throughout the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft tissue surrounding the spinal column, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 48 manual protocols. Spine Level 1 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including chronic back pain, headaches, TMJ, vertigo, concussion symptoms, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions. The ART Spine Level 1 seminar is accredited in 37 US states.

Core Learning Objectives
- Recite the four basic components of ART treatment protocols.
- Summarize the cellular response to ART treatment on soft-tissue structures.
- Compare healthy and unhealthy tissue utilizing hands-on palpation techniques.
- Identify muscle or soft tissue texture, tension, movement, and function through
   palpation and patient assessment.
- Palpate 48 anatomical soft-tissue structures within the spine, using an appropriate tension, depth, and
motion to properly perform the treatment protocol.

Delivery format and method of instruction

ART seminars provide a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees use ART's online learning platform at activerelease.litmos.com to study and complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, including an anatomy worksheet; explanations of the ART Diagnostic Algorithm; treatment methodology; protocol instructions; and a pre-credentialing exam, which requires a score of 70% or higher to become ART-certified. Typical study/preparation time is no less than 30 hours. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. After completing the online modules and 16 hours of in-person training, attendees will demonstrate their skills through a practical exam to determine if they meet minimum requirements to use ART treatment in a clinical setting. A score of 70% or higher is required to be certified.
